The Air Navigation (Restriction of Flying) (The International Ayr Show) Regulations 2026

Citation and commencement

In regulation 3(2) the times referred to are Co-ordinated Universal Time( b ).

( b ) Co-ordinated Universal Time (UTC) is one hour behind British Summer Time (BST).

Restricted airspace

-(1) Subject to paragraph (3), during the periods specified in paragraph (2) no aircraft is to fly below 6,000 feet above mean sea level within the area bounded by a circle having a radius of 4 nautical miles which is centred at 552731N 0043839W.

(2) The periods referred to in paragraph (1) begin with-

(a) 1200 hours and end with 2000 hours on 4th September 2026, and
(b) 1100 hours and end with 1730 hours on 5th September 2026.

(3) Paragraph (1) does not apply to any aircraft-

(a) operating in accordance with a permission issued by-
(i) the International Ayr Show flying display director, or
(ii) the air traffic control unit at Prestwick airport.

This section prohibits flight below 6,000 feet within a 4-nautical-mile radius of the specified coordinates near Ayr.

The restrictions are active from 12:00 to 20:00 UTC on 4 September and from 11:00 to 17:30 UTC on 5 September 2026.

Aircraft may only enter this zone if they have received permission from either the event's flying display director or the air traffic control unit at Prestwick airport.
