The Power to Award Degrees etc. (Hull College Group) Order of Council 2015 (Amendment) Order 2025
This Order, made by the Office for Students under the powers of the Higher Education and Research Act 2017, formally amends the existing 2015 Order concerning Hull College Group's power to award degrees, extending the fixed term of this competence to expire at the end of the day on March 30, 2029.

The Office for Students (OfS), using powers granted by the Higher Education and Research Act 2017, issues this Order to authorize Walbrook Institute London Limited to grant specific taught awards, effective from September 1, 2026, until August 30, 2029, confirming that the OfS has considered relevant quality advice before issuance and noting that the order imposes no impact on businesses, civil society, or the public sector.
The Power to Award Degrees etc. (Multiverse Group Limited) Order 2025
The Office for Students grants Multiverse Group Limited authorization to award taught degrees in computing and business and management.
This authorization, effective December 2, 2025, and expiring December 1, 2027, is based on advice received on the quality of Multiverse's programs and complies with the Higher Education and Research Act 2017.
The authorization is limited to students enrolled with Multiverse at the time of course completion.
The Tonnage Tax (Training Requirement) (Amendment etc.) Regulations 2025, effective October 1st, 2025, amend the 2000 Regulations by raising payments in lieu of maritime training from £1,421 to £1,705 and the higher rate payment for training failures from £1,329 to £1,613.
These changes apply to relevant four-month periods after September 30th, 2025, and revoke the similar 2023 regulations.
The amendments increase funding for the Maritime Training Trust.
The Power to Award Degrees etc. (Cornwall College) Order 2025
The Power to Award Degrees etc. (Cornwall College) Order 2025 authorizes Cornwall College to grant taught awards.
The college receives indefinite authorization for awards up to the foundation level and a fixed-term authorization (until May 15, 2030) for awards up to the bachelor's level.
This authorization is granted under the Higher Education and Research Act 2017, following advice from the relevant body regarding educational quality and standards.
The Dentists Act 1984 (Medical Authorities) Order 2025
The Dentists Act 1984 (Medical Authorities) Order 2025 designates the University of Portsmouth as a medical authority, empowering it to conduct dentistry examinations and grant licenses.
This order, effective September 3rd, 2025, applies across England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland, potentially increasing the capacity for dental professionals while leveraging existing legal frameworks.
No significant impact on the public, private or voluntary sectors is anticipated.
The Power to Award Degrees etc. (The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts) Order 2025
The Office for Students granted the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) authorization to award taught degrees up to the master’s level in engineering and technology, business and management, and design, creative, and performing arts.
This authorization, effective from September 15, 2025, to September 14, 2029, followed a review and considers advice from relevant bodies, in accordance with the Higher Education and Research Act 2017.
The authorization is specifically limited to students enrolled at LIPA at the time of course completion.
The Power to Award Degrees etc. (TEC Partnership) (Amendment) Order 2025
The Power to Award Degrees etc. (TEC Partnership) (Amendment) Order 2025 amends the 2024 Order, extending TEC Partnership’s authorization to grant taught awards up to and including bachelor’s degree level indefinitely.
It also grants TEC Partnership the authority to delegate this power to other institutions.
The Order cites the Higher Education and Research Act 2017 as its authority and notes that no impact assessment was required as it affects neither businesses nor the public sector.
