The restrictions apply to all unmanned aircraft operators, except those granted specific permission by the Lancashire Police Drone Unit.

The Secretary of State for Transport issued these measures to manage public safety and security during a large-scale gathering for a professional golf championship.

The Automated Vehicles (Marketing Restrictions) Regulations 2026

Established a list of eight terms and their variants that can only be used to market vehicles authorised as automated under the 2024 Act.


These Regulations specify a list of eight terms, including 'automated', 'autonomous', and 'self-driving', which are restricted for use in the marketing, promotion, and supply of road vehicles or vehicle equipment in England, Wales, and Scotland.

From 7 January 2027, the use of these terms (or their grammatical variants) to describe a vehicle or its driving capability is limited to vehicles officially authorised under the Automated Vehicles Act 2024.

The restrictions apply to any person or business involved in the promotion or supply of road vehicles and associated hardware.

The order prohibits aircraft from flying below 4,000 feet above mean sea level within a specified 3 nautical mile radius on 31st July 2026 between 1100 and 1615 hours Co-ordinated Universal Time. These restrictions apply to all aircraft except those granted specific permission by the Odiham Families Day Flying Display Director or designated air traffic control units at RAF Odiham, RAF Terminal Air Traffic Control Centre South, or Farnborough Airport.

The Road User Charging Schemes (Penalty Charges, Adjudication and Enforcement) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2026

These Regulations amend the Road User Charging Schemes (Penalty Charges, Adjudication and Enforcement) (England) Regulations 2013 to modify how documents and penalty notices are served by mail.

The amendments remove the specific requirement for charging authorities to use first class post and establish new legal assumptions for when a document is deemed delivered: the fourth working day after posting for domestic mail and the tenth working day for international mail.

These changes apply to charging authorities in England and any persons or entities issued with documents under road user charging schemes.
