The Aviation Security (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2025

The Aviation Security (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2025, effective October 31, 2025, amend existing UK aviation security legislation.

Specifically, the regulations remove Chapter 9 (airport supplies) from Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/1998.

These changes aim to streamline security processes, and a full impact assessment was deemed unnecessary due to the anticipated lack of significant consequences on any sector.

The Tonnage Tax (Training Requirement) (Amendment etc.) Regulations 2025

The Tonnage Tax (Training Requirement) (Amendment etc.) Regulations 2025, effective October 1st, 2025, amend the 2000 Regulations by raising payments in lieu of maritime training from £1,421 to £1,705 and the higher rate payment for training failures from £1,329 to £1,613.

These changes apply to relevant four-month periods after September 30th, 2025, and revoke the similar 2023 regulations.

The amendments increase funding for the Maritime Training Trust.

The Aldwark Bridge (Revision of Tolls and Traffic Classification) Order 2025

The Aldwark Bridge (Revision of Tolls and Traffic Classification) Order 2025, effective September 10, 2025, revises toll charges for using Aldwark Bridge.

It updates the toll amounts for various vehicle classes and defines terms such as 'vehicle' and 'maximum weight', referencing existing legislation.

The order revokes the 2005 version and provides a new schedule of tolls, ranging from free for motorcycles to £2.60 for heavier vehicles, depending on the vehicle class and year.

The Transport Act 2000 (Air Traffic Services) (Prescribed Terms) Regulations 2025

The Transport Act 2000 (Air Traffic Services) (Prescribed Terms) Regulations 2025, effective August 15, 2025, clarify which terms within air traffic services licenses can be modified by the Secretary of State.

These terms specify the types of air traffic services authorized and the geographical areas they cover.

The regulations stem from airspace modernization initiatives and allow for greater flexibility in adapting to evolving technological and operational needs while accounting for potential cost implications to impacted businesses.

The Postal Services (Universal Postal Service) (Amendment) (No. 2) Order 2025

The Postal Services (Universal Postal Service) (Amendment) (No. 2) Order 2025 amends the 2012 Postal Services (Universal Postal Service) Order.

Key changes include updated definitions to reflect the UK's departure from the EU, revised routing times for standard and priority letters, and adjustments to delivery and collection schedules, aiming for greater clarity and efficiency in the postal system.

The Order also revokes a previous, incomplete amendment Order.

OFCOM conducted a user needs review before implementing these changes.

The Aviation Safety (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2025

The Aviation Safety (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2025 amend several EU regulations concerning civil aviation safety.
