The Street Works (Charges for Occupation of the Highway) Order 2026, made by the Secretary of State for Transport, formally approves seven specified local highway authorities in England—Buckinghamshire Council, North Yorkshire Council, Oxfordshire County Council, and the London Boroughs of Camden, Enfield, Lambeth, and Merton—to implement charges for street occupation during works, in accordance with their respective Lane Rental Schemes under the 2012 Regulations, thereby allowing these authorities to manage road congestion caused by street works.

Imposed immediate, time-specific emergency flight restrictions on unmanned aircraft below 1,250 feet over The Mall, Harrow area on April 20, 2026.

The Air Navigation (Restriction of Flying) (The Mall) (Emergency) Regulations 2026 enact immediate, temporary prohibitions on the operation of unmanned aircraft below 1,250 feet above mean sea level within a 1.25 nautical mile radius centred on The Mall in Harrow, valid for April 20, 2026, between 11:59 and 23:59 hours, unless specific permission is granted by the Metropolitan Police Service.

* The Secretary of State made an Order amending the A66 Northern Trans-Pennine Development Consent Order 2024 following an application for non-material changes, updating descriptions in Schedule 1, altering highway and access provisions in Schedule 2, modifying measurements in Schedules 7 and 8, and substituting the list of certified documents in Schedule 10.

This Statutory Instrument, the A66 Northern Trans-Pennine Development Consent (Amendment) Order 2026, was made by the Secretary of State for Transport to implement specific non-material changes to the original A66 Northern Trans-Pennine Development Consent Order 2024.

The amendments detailed across multiple schedules primarily involve minor alterations to the authorized works descriptions, precise adjustments to the classification and measurements of highways, updates to permanent stopping up and provision of new access ways, and revisions to the list of certified documents governing the project.

Transferred the harbour authority status and all associated assets, duties, and liabilities for the Ports of Fleetwood and Silloth from Associated British Ports to new dedicated port companies.

This Order transfers the statutory harbour authority responsibilities and physical undertakings of the Port of Fleetwood and the Port of Silloth from Associated British Ports to FJ Ports (Fleetwood) Ltd. and FJ Ports (Silloth) Ltd., respectively.

It directs the transfer of all statutory powers, duties, lands, assets, and liabilities associated with these ports to the new entities on a specific transfer date determined by the current owner.

The provisions apply to Associated British Ports, the two newly established FJ Ports companies, and any persons or entities holding contracts, licences, or legal proceedings related to these harbour undertakings.

The North East Combined Authority's maximum tolls for the Tyne Tunnel crossing were revised and specified in a new schedule, effective May 1, 2026, following the revocation of the 2025 toll revision order.

This Statutory Instrument, The River Tyne (Tunnels) (Revision of Tolls) Order 2026, exercises powers granted under the Tyne and Wear Act 1976 and the River Tyne (Tunnels) Order 2005 to revise the maximum tolls that the North East Combined Authority can demand for traffic using the Tyne Tunnel crossing, setting the new rates specified in the attached Schedule, effective from May 1, 2026, and simultaneously revoking the previous 2025 revision Order.

The Secretary of State exercised powers under the Air Navigation Order 2016 to immediately revoke the statutory instrument imposing emergency flying restrictions over a Leicestershire area because the emergency ceased to exist.

The Air Navigation (Restriction of Flying) (Leicestershire) (Emergency) (Revocation) Regulations 2026 immediately terminate the emergency flight restrictions previously imposed over a specified area in Leicestershire, as the Secretary of State has determined that these restrictions are no longer necessary in the public interest.

These Regulations legally revoke the earlier 2026 instrument that established the restrictions, exercised under the powers granted by the Air Navigation Order 2016, and come into force instantly upon being made.
