The Criminal Legal Aid (Standard Crime Contract) (Amendment) Regulations 2025
These regulations, effective October 1st, 2025, amend three sets of UK criminal legal aid regulations—General, Remuneration, and Financial Resources—to reflect the replacement of the 2022 Standard Crime Contract with the 2025 version.
The amendments update references to the contract throughout the existing regulations and also update references to the Standard Crime Contract Guidance for Reporting Crime Lower Work to its latest version.
A transitional provision ensures that pre-existing determinations are unaffected, and the regulations only apply to services provided under the new contract.
The Aviation Security (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2025
The Aviation Security (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2025, effective October 31, 2025, amend existing UK aviation security legislation.
Specifically, the regulations remove Chapter 9 (airport supplies) from Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/1998.

The Non-Contentious Probate (Amendment) Rules 2025

Key changes include mandating online applications for grants to trust corporations, establishing a priority order for resolving disputes between equally entitled applicants, streamlining processes for solicitors in Scotland working in England and Wales, and updating forms and procedures to improve efficiency and clarity.
The amendments aim to modernize probate procedures by increasing use of an online portal.
The Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005 (Designated Sites under Section 128) (Amendment) Order 2025, effective September 29, 2025, amends the 2007 Order by adding Forest Lodge, Windsor Great Park to the list of sites protected under Section 128 of the 2005 Act.
This makes trespassing on the specified portion of Forest Lodge an offense.
The amendment involves updating article 2(1)(g) and adding article 2(17) and Schedule 16 to the 2007 Order, with a map delineating the protected area.
