The Employee Study and Training (Procedural Requirements) (Amendment) Regulations 2026

These Regulations amend the existing Employee Study and Training (Procedural Requirements) Regulations 2010 by increasing the statutory time limit for an employee to present a complaint to an Employment Tribunal regarding an employer’s failure, or threat to fail, to allow accompaniment during a meeting about study or training, extending this period from three months to six months, with the change applying only to failures occurring on or after October 1st, 2026.

The Major Sporting Events (Income Tax Exemption) (Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games) Regulations 2026

These Regulations, enacted by HM Treasury under the Finance Act 2014, establish an income tax exemption for individuals accredited by the organizer of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games for income earned while performing activities connected with the Games between July 16th and August 4th, 2026, provided the individual meets specific non-UK residence criteria for the relevant tax year or period.

This Order enacts specific, outstanding sections of the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008, bringing them into immediate legal effect on 15th February 2010, while simultaneously introducing saving provisions to maintain the operation of previous legal frameworks where necessary to prevent disruption during the transition to the new legislation.

The Automated Vehicles (Permits for Automated Passenger Services) Regulations 2026

These Regulations set out the administrative and procedural rules necessary for the permitting system established by the Automated Vehicles Act 2024 to operate concerning automated passenger services across England, Wales, and Scotland.

They specify that permits can last a maximum of five years, detail the renewal application window and continuation of service during review, and define the circumstances and procedures under which the Secretary of State can vary, suspend, or withdraw a permit, either with or without the holder's consent.

Furthermore, the rules establish an internal review process for adverse decisions and authorize the regulated disclosure and use of operational and safety information by permit holders to various public bodies.
